A short update about Paddy’s condition.
No improvement so far. The good news is she made it through another night and she swallows all the food and water that is given her.
Not much to do but keep her warm, continue to feed her, wait and hope for the best.
Paddy is under observation with her vet (the operation was performed by a very friendly and caring emergency vet). Her temperature had dropped and she seemed to be getting weaker She had a very heavy procedure (part of the intestine was removed) and she didn’t look like she had really recovered from the shock yet. There were a few glimpses of attention when kittens meowed. The kittens, by the way, helped in keeping her warm this morning by cuddling up against her.
The kittens and how they are doing
Fine really. Earlier last week they discovered food and what you can do with it and now they all eat, drink, poop (not always where they are supposed to) and for the rest they are taken care of by Briti.
That is all but one. Quickly after the trouble with Paddy started we lost one of them. From day one she looked poorly and we feared she wouldn’t make it through the first days. With some assistance like giving her good nipple position she did make it, and hopes were she would be fine although she remained the runt of the litter. She died shortly after Paddy stopped feeding
